They've added functionality in the software now that wasn't there before when I first got them and it's amazing. The software I've had maybe 1 issue with, that was easily resolved (getting it setup the first time). It's been going strong for 2 years, and I game everyday and use these things for hours on end every day. If you want pinpoint precision with 7.1 then this is it. The range hasn't reduced, the charging base still works like a champ, the speakers still sound great, mic works great, everything is in perfect condition and I don't treat it like anything special. It uses a high quality aluminum bracket for each ear muff to couple with the headrest, so unless you twist it hard past the point where it stops I don't see how you could break it. Nothing works right if you mistreat it. One small caveat is I need to buy a new battery, but they're super cheap (5-10 bucks according to another reviewer). However, I still get 6 hours out of the 10 or so I was getting when I first got it. 6 hours is a long time without charging! Also just in case you're wondering the cord on the base is REALLY long so I just plug it up and keep trucking along whenever the battery gets low. Oh and don't run the battery all the way down like I've done on multiple occasions and it will last longer. It's a lithium ion so it's really bad on the life if you run it all the way down. When the software audibly tells you there's 1 hour left go ahead and plug it up. I've had a ton of headsets and I'm telling you that compared to how the others looked after a year or so, and this thing looks after 2 1/2 years it's a solid buy and you simply cannot go wrong. Plantronics - Voyager Legend (Poly) - Bluetooth Single-Ear (Monaural) Headset - Connect to your PC, Mac, Tablet and/or Cell P 3 Previous iterations were much better for iPhone use. Joshua B*** Lets start with the good. The Plantronics Voyager series has been the best bluetooth headsets around for years. I have owned the last 4 iterations and they have kept getting better up till now. Comfort: As with previous iterations the Legend is very comfortable. I wear these all day listening to podcasts and audiobooks. It is amazing how many times I reach up to find that I have moved the set to the other ear. That is how comfortable they are. The legend is slightly smaller than the previous versions but that surprisingly does not effect its balance or comfort. Buttons: The addition of an on/off switch is nice and the toggle for the volume works well. I was happy with the previous button configuration for the volume but the toggle switch works just as well. Volume: I can hear the books just as well as with the previous devices. Battery Life: 7 hours is better than 6 and the time is pretty accurate. This means more books per day though I still occasionally use a second headset after work. I just listen to that much audio. Now for the bad aspects. Plantronics really changed the design of this set and while they kept their legendary comfort they made some serious mistakes. Proprietary Charger: I want to be fair on this point and say that their charger probably makes the headset more durable since micro USB has a tendency to break. That is how my first Voyager died. Replacing a $10 adaptor is much nicer than replacing an $80 headset. The bad however is that to get a second charger you have to go buy another proprietary one rather than using one of the many Micro USBs that most people have laying around at this point. The one they supply is a tiny adaptor that you stick onto a Micro USB. Wisely they included a little strap that allows you to secure the adaptor to a cable but it is still easy to lose if it is not attached to the cable. I have already done this once when I took the charger off the cable at my night stand to kale care of my brother's kids. You will not simply go to the store and buy another of these so if you lose the one you have you headset is dead until amazon or whoever ships you a new one. The adaptor also looks relatively fragile. All in all expect that you will own several through out the life of this headset. Buttons: As I have noted they now have an on and off switch as well as a toggle switch for the volume. On previous iterations there was another button on the boom for commands. Holding the two volume buttons down would activate the play/pause function for music, podcasts, and audiobooks. This is no longer the case. There are now 2 buttons on the boom. One at the back of the boom and one on the boom it self. The one on the boom has two functions. If you tap it it asks you for a command from its built in list of commands. If you hold it down it acts at a play/pause button the same way the volume buttons worked before. If you tap the button on the back of the boom it gives you the status. If you hold it down it activates Siri on the iPhone. I am not sure how these react on an android but I would assume much the same way. Here is where all the issues come from. Because Play/Pause and Siri are both secondary features it takes such longer to activate them than on previous iterations. Often the reason I pause a book is to talk to some one or because they have come up to talk to me. With the previous ones I simply tapped the two volume buttons and it instantly stopped. Here you have to hold it for a full second or more to get the audio to stop. It is the difference between a quick gesture and being conversationally rude as the first few words of the conversation are overlaid with whatever you were listening to. A second is a long time in a conversation. Activating Siri takes even longer. There is the full second or more to hold the button and then the delay before Siri responds. My average time with this headset is a full 4-5 seconds before Siri starts listening. Typically I have my hand at my side and have walked a few steps by the time I get to ask the phone to do something. With the previous headsets my hand has barely left my ear before I get the Siri is listening tone. What makes this even more annoying is that with the previous headsets if I wanted to use Siri while listening to a book i would hold the button and it would automatically stop the recording and activate Siri. The Legend set will not let you use Siri until you use the Play/Pause button, wait a second or two, then hold the command button to activate Siri. After the Note or whatever you used Siri for you then need to reactivate the Play/Pause to get back to your audio. Do all of that while driving in traffic and see if having a headset has made you any safer. Allot can happen in 10 seconds of headset frustration. Microphone: The microphone does not seem to be as clear as previous models either. For the first time I have started having several people ask me to speak up or tell me that I sounded far away. After having such good call quality from the previous headsets this is a early annoying step back. Over all I would suggest getting the Plantronics Voyager Pro+ or HD over he legend. The HD is the best of the lot and will cost much less that the Legend. Hopefully the next iteration will fix all the flaws in the current version. B0096KSBB0 US

Cass*** So for the last year I've really wanted to finally upgrade from wired headphones but I was worried about the sound quality, fit and battery life. After a lot of research I finally decided on the G930. Part of the reason is that I wanted to 7.1 surround sound to help me get that little extra edge when it comes to FPS games. Planetside 2, Battlefield 3 etc . . . Well after a week I love these headphones. Music sounds great, the range is about 30 feet, the battery last for my long gaming sessions (6 hours) and no more tripping on my headphone cord. In game I can hear much more clearly which way a shot came from, where enemies are and how far away they are. It's just that little edge that the competitive gamer will really enjoy. Fit wise they have a great weight that makes them feel solid on my head as well as snug. The mic works great with Skype and Teamspeak (even though it has not native support). I found overall that the quality for voice chat went up a lot with these headphones when in game. Without Yeti, you'd have to get some kind of high-quality sound interface for your computer (USB or whatever other method you could find... $100) and then you'd have to find a high-quality microphone and cable (at least another $100). Yeti takes care of all that because he already has the USB interface (even includes a USB cable) and it seems to me that the 4-setting pickup pattern can't be found on that many mics. Highlights: -He's BIG! I'm talking massive. Yeti stands as tall as your laptop and is as big around as your arm. -Yeti has no trouble when I've used it with a long (15 foot I think) USB cable. -The mini-plug headphone adapter on Yeti is better than your sound card (you can play music that you already have on your computer, listen to it through Yeti, and it sounds better). -When used with Skype Video Chat, there's no lag between audio and video (I thought there would be, but it works!) Despite the strange appearance it is amazing. Once I got it hooked up to my PC (at the time my keyboard was broken so I was stuck on a Mac Book which the headset also works for without surround) I could hear the surround sound in well configured games. Games that support it don't always properly utilize it. However the controls aren't placed too well for overall gaming. While in shooters your right hand usually can't be spared, in most other game types you need your left hand on the keyboard at all times. If I want to turn down the volume while I'm in a car chase in GTA I have to reach across with my right hand to reach the volume wheel. In addition the headset has a switch to enable and disable Dolby Surround Sound. I don't see why this is necessary, especially since it is so close to the power button that I often accidentally turn off the surround sound when turning the headset on or off. The Micro USB port is recessed to improve cosmetics but this also makes it hard to plug it in. However I'm not docking a star for that since unlike competing wireless 7.1 headsets it supports use and charge on a single USB port vs. one for charging and one for signal. The G-keys are virtually useless since they don't work with most VOIP services and that's really what I would imagine them being used for. Not in-game actions.
