It was like I was missing something that would've locked everything into place. I was able to set it up by myself in a couple of minutes tops. As far as breaking it down... that's another story. I still have not been able to get it back into it's carrying case. I'm going to try again today but there was no way we were getting it in it's bag when we were leaving the beach so I had to just throw the loosely bound, semi collapsed setup over my shoulder and lug it back while trying not to bump into anyone with it on the way back to the truck. It's heavier than it looks like it should be if that makes sense. This would benefit greatly from a shoulder strap, which there isn't. I was kinda surprised when it arrived and I couldn't find one. I looked through the bag and didn't see one and figured I'd find it when I got everything out of the bag at the beach but nope, no strap for carrying which makes this pretty cumbersome with just the two handles especially if you have to go more than a couple hundred feet. It's good overall and if it were closer to 100 bucks instead of 129 bucks I'd probably lean towards 5 stars, but for what you get for the money it feels a little lacking compared to other similar or identical chairs at much better prices. It gets an A+ in my book. This chair is large. It has storage pockets and the mandatory cup holder, but this one actually works. It is padded, even the arms are padded which is really nice. Did I mention it is comfortable? Really comfortable! The chair unfolds and sets up differently than most folding chairs, and includes a locking brace to hold it securely in place when open. The carrying case is actually large enough to get on and off the chair without a struggle. The shoulder strap has an adjustable pad to make carrying the chair easier. NO MORE STUPID LITTLE FABRIC BAGS TO LOSE. The canopy works very well and is pretty easy to deploy. The level of shade is nice and deep because the canopy is solid AND there are mesh panels to the sides (not huge ones, mind you) and these also provide some shade. Setup was easy and fast. It's about as heavy as I expected and it's obviously not going to be as light as a big box cheapo seat with no features. The only knocks I have are relatively minor: -The canopy's underside fabric was slightly abraded by rubbing against the spreader bars during shipment. This likely will continue to fray the material. I might throw some t-rex tape there as a sacrificial layer. -The cam adjusters used to set the height and angle of the canopy feel weak. I expect these will eventually be a problem but for now they're fine. -The chair doesn't FEEL like it will live up to its 300lb weight rating long term.
