I'm now moving it over to the pruning shears page. If this was just a pruning shear with battery, it would be great. Hand held, by itself, the shears work pretty good. I was able to easily cut through 1 inch green branches, and dead old 1 inch branches also cut, albeit with quite a bit more strain. The included instructions are pretty worthless on this. There are a couple of pictures and that is it. They are worth about as much as the cheap cotton work gloves included. Unfortunately the gloves lasted longer than the pole. They include batteries that are supposed to be 4Ah but measure out closer to 3Ah. Not surprising, really. The batteries themselves have the same form factor as Makita batteries and will fit various other generic 21v tools that I own such as an air compressor, router, blower, etc. The pole itself is supposed to be metal, but where the handle connects is cheap ABS plastic, and it is pretty weak. I used the pruner for the first day with no problems, but on the second day, as I was lifting the pole up to get to a high branch, the handle just snapped. And there's no easy way to fix it. So, now I have a very expensive pruning shears and a worthless pole. I have contacted technical support in the past about a different product, and while they promised to get back to me, they never did, so don't expect any help there. It also comes with very clear instructions on how to assemble and no parts were missing (though some parts look very much alike, which can get confusing - pay attention to the position of the holes on the part and in the assembly instructions if you get stuck. That said, the shelf is prone to tipping over backward when empty - and it isn't exactly light nor does it come with equipment to prevent this from happening. I would recommend work gloves when putting it together as the edges of some parts can be quite sharp and contain burrs. I ended up acquiring and picking several metal slivers out of my fingers in the process putting it together. Fitting the plastic pieces of the shelf into its metal parts required a deadblow hammer - they were simply not able to be put together with hands alone and yes, I tried putting my strength and weight into it. Be careful with the arms that are meant to hold the cars, they may seem strong but mine bent easily at the weld between the arm that holds the car and the bracket which holds the arm to the shelf. I was able to bend it back to its original position but it really shouldn't bend this easily if welded together properly. For the reasons above, I can't really recommend this until the points I mentioned are resolved, which is disappointing. One feature I really appreciate is that it comes with two rechargeable batteries. If I had needed more time, I could have simply swapped batteries and kept going for another 45 minutes. If I had to nitpick, I would say it's a bit noisy. That said, the manufacturer includes earplugs, which is a thoughtful addition. It also comes with a pair of lightweight work gloves, another nice bonus. I did find that charging takes a while. Mine needed roughly 8 hours for a full charge. For me, that's a fair tradeoff considering how lightweight, convenient, and effective this blower is. The manufacturer also claims it can handle snow. I haven't tested that yet, but I can definitely see it being useful for clearing light, powdery snowfall from my car, steps, patios, or walkways. Overall, this is one of those tools that's handy to have in virtually any household. It's lightweight, effective, easy to use, and honestly kind of fun. I ended up disappointed. What you get is a simple bag with the expected six pairs of gloves (Pic 1). The gloves are made of a very stretchy woven fabric which is visible on the backs of the gloves, and the wrist is held snugly by an extra elasticated section (Pic 2). The palms of the gloves as well as the sides of the hand and most of the fingers are impregnated with grippy, white, paint-like material, which is renders that part of the gloves much less stretchy (Pic 3). This coating somewhat reduces dexterity and sensitivity to touch, but not much beyond that of the plain fabric. I got the "L" size, which was a little large for me (size 9), but comfortable enough, and that size will probably work reasonably well for most men. Without a hand in them, the gloves measured 9.5" long and 3.5" across the palm (Pics 4 and 5). Sight unseen, I didn't have much idea what these gloves would be like, and had been expecting something much more heavy-duty. These are definitely lightweight gloves, which means that they won't be tiring to wear, but probably won't provide very much in the way of protection. I suppose that's another way of saying that they're likely to be pretty good for gardening, and might help prevent blisters, but I don't think I'd trust them much beyond that. I certainly wouldn't feel safe to hit mu thumb with a hammer wearing these. These gloves claim to work with touch screens, so I tried them with an iPhone, and they totally didn't work. Being concerned that I really hadn't tested things enough, I tried with a Samsung Galaxy tablet, and found that I was able to work the screen. That led me to try two different generations of iPad as well, and neither of those could operate with the gloves (an example of this is shown in the attached movie). So, the bottom line seems to me to be that if you're in the market for lightweight gloves, then perhaps these will be OK for you. There are lots of gloves which can be bought in bulk like these, and the price as of this writing seems OK, for half a dozen pairs, but definitely not a screaming deal.
