The scale adjusts its reading nearly instantly to minute additions / subtractions of grounds / liquids. The readings are accurate. The display is loaded with information, all of it useful, some of it a bit small. Still, the amount of information you are getting is helpful. The touch sensitive buttons work well enough, but I prefer more tactile buttons. I did not download and try the app since coffee time is the time I like to leave my phone behind. This scale does the job. When I took it out of the package I charged it before using it. It charged great, and did not take too long. I set the scale to ounces and it's measuring is accurate. The scale is a good size, small enough to keep on the countertop or to put in a drawer for storage. The screen is nice and bright. There is a compartment underneath the scale for batteries. I have not put any batteries in, the scale holds it's own charge really well so I have not needed batteries. I followed the instructions in the manual and set the auto off to 300 so the scale will stay powered on a little longer. Just a tip, when you want to change the auto off, immediately when the screen turns on and is completely lit up before you see any zeros, that's when you hit the unit button to get it to the auto setup. If you hit the unit button after the screen is completely on it will only change the unit weight options. One thing I would like to add, the auto off setting does not affect the screen display time. The screen display time is set to go off at 8 seconds to save power. So if you are taking your time measuring and walk away from the scale and come back 10 seconds later it will go blank. The M1 setting on the scale allows you to tare out the scale after you put your coffee grounds in, then when you start pouring water, the timer automatically starts. Once you take your dripper off the scale, the timer stops and then it’ll show you your brew ratio based on the weight of your coffee grounds and the amount of water you used! I find that a pretty great feature!! It also isn’t too big, it’ll fit on a espresso drip tray, and includes a espresso setting to where it automatically zeros out when you put a cup on it, and then automatically starts a timer at first drip. The build quality of the Aluminium body is very good and it have a nice little weight to it. Includes in the box is a 100g calibration weight so that you can make sure your scale is reading correctly.
