About six months ago it became no longer nonstick and I am now, after buying three of them in total, and two of them are no longer are nonstick. Not really sure what happens. I think if you heat food up too much then the grease solidifies onto the bottom of the pan. I was very, very careful, as careful as I could be, to keep these pans lasting as long as possible but at this price point, for six months of an advertised nonstick pan to be completely sticky, I would say that I feel duped by their advertising. These pans are not good for induction even though it says they are. First of all, immediately upon setting the pan on my glass cooktop, it scratched the glass! Real scratches on the glass that cannot be buffed out, and I’ve had the cooktop for 6 years with no scratches from any other pans, including other nonstick pans. I barely moved it too, I wasn’t getting crazy with the pan. There was a tiny bump on the bottom of the pan and that’s what caused the scratching, so inspect that first if you get these pans! After we chipped off the bump, I thought ok nothing I can do about the scratches but hopefully no more problems. Well, it doesn’t work well for cooking. After several nights of trying to cook dinners in the large pan, it is apparent that it does not get hot enough to cook food efficiently on my induction stove. The pan barely heats enough to make liquids bubble on the highest stove setting. I have given it plenty of time to get to the proper temperature, and in the end have to put everything into my regular stainless steel pan which heats fully, right away (but is not non stick, which is why I bought these pans). The smaller pan seems better, but not by much, taking forever to heat an omelette. Additionally, there are now hazy markings/ rings on my cooktop that were never there before along with the scratches. I’m so annoyed I wasted money in this product, and damaged my stove. I want a replacement or my money back. Don’t have the box anymore (stupid me). I reached out to Carote so we will see. Apparently cookware color selection can still be that simple. More seriously, these are very nice ceramic frying pans. Right now the nonstick surface works exactly as advertised: food releases easily, cooking is even, and cleanup is painless. But I have learned not to declare eternal love to a nonstick pan after the first few dates. Most nonstick pans are wonderful when new; the real test is what happens months down the road. In my case, the benchmark is very specific: how long will I continue to get perfectly formed frittatas out of them? Time will tell. For now, though, they do what they promise and do it well. The 8-inch and 9.5-inch sizes are particularly useful for my now-downsized family—not enormous pans occupying half the stove when I am cooking relatively small portions. They are lightweight, heat quickly and evenly, and the ceramic surface needs very little oil. The universal glass lid is also a smart idea. One lid fitting both pans saves space, and the silicone rim gives it a nice secure fit. The handles are comfortable and stay reasonably cool. And while blue cookware initially looked a little surprising to me, the color certainly isn't a drawback; the set has a cheerful, modern appearance. I do have two complaints. First, I really wish these were induction compatible. Gas, electric and glass-top compatibility is fine, but induction would have made the set considerably more versatile. Second, although I didn't pay for these pans, looking at the retail price I still think they could be a little cheaper. Free does not completely disable my sense of value. So: very good performance, useful sizes, clever lid, attractive construction, and excellent nonstick behavior so far. You can also choose between 1, 1.5, and 2-pound loaves, which is really convenient depending on how much bread you need. There are light, medium, and dark crust settings as well, so you have quite a bit of control over the finished loaf. One of my favorite features is the automatic fruit and nut dispenser. Instead of having to watch the machine and wait for the right time to add raisins, nuts, or other extras, you can put them in the dispenser, and the machine releases them at the appropriate point in the cycle. That's a really nice feature if you're making specialty breads. The nonstick surface helps the finished loaf release easily and makes cleanup much simpler. The pan is removable, so you're not trying to clean everything while it's still inside the machine. The stainless steel exterior gives it a nice appearance and makes it look like a quality kitchen appliance rather than something I'd feel the need to hide away. Overall, this is a versatile and very convenient bread maker. I love being able to control the ingredients that go into our bread while letting the machine take care of the mixing, kneading, rising, and baking. Between the different programs, three loaf sizes, crust settings, automatic ingredient dispenser, and ceramic nonstick pan, it has everything I was looking for in a bread machine. The nonstick coating works exactly as advertised, eggs, pancakes, and even fish slide right off without a trace of sticking. I was a little skeptical since I've been burned by cheap nonstick pans before, but this one has held up well through daily use so far. Food cooks evenly across the surface, and I haven't had any issues with hot spots or uneven browning. Cleanup has honestly been one of my favorite things about this pan. A quick wipe with a soapy sponge is usually all it takes, even after cooking something like cheesy eggs that would normally leave a mess behind. I rarely need to soak it or scrub hard, which saves a lot of time after meals. The detachable handle is another great feature, not only does it make washing easier since you can pop it off and get into every corner, but it also makes storage much simpler.
