I've owned two of these cameras, and both have experienced the same types of reliability issues: overheating, crashing, randomly stopping recording, failing to boot properly, and sometimes appearing to work normally only to stop recording again later. Over time I replaced cables, tried different SD cards, reformatted cards, checked connections, reset the cameras, and spent more money trying to eliminate everything else as the cause. At some point you have to stop blaming accessories and accept that the cameras themselves simply aren't reliable. Reading through the other negative reviews now is especially frustrating because I'm seeing people describe the exact same problems I've experienced — overheating, crashes, boot loops, cameras randomly stopping recording, SD card issues, and units becoming increasingly unreliable over time. When these cameras work, the video quality is good. Unfortunately, that doesn't matter if you can't trust them to actually be recording when something happens. That's the part I can't overlook with a dash camera. The entire purpose of this product is to quietly and reliably record in the background so the footage is there when you need it. I shouldn't have to regularly check whether my dash camera has crashed, overheated, failed to boot, or simply stopped recording without me realizing it. Both of mine are now out of warranty, and after spending more than $708 between the two cameras and everything I've purchased trying to keep them working, I don't even want to waste more time or money attempting to have them repaired. Even if they were repaired, I no longer trust them enough to put them back in my vehicles. Two cameras, more than $708 invested, and neither one is reliable enough to perform the basic job I bought it for. I regret how much money and time I've put into these and will be replacing them with cameras from another manufacturer. Figured now would be the time to upgrade, as the old one had really slow Wi-Fi and was bulky looking. I got this unit and it looked much better and less obvious on the windshield. The Wi-Fi speed is much improved, seconds vs possible minutes for downloads. However, I've had to replace the unit under the 18 month extended warranty (1 year or so into it). Not only did the plastic screen overlay fall off due to the heat affecting the glue (not too big of a deal), but my memory card randomly disappeared one day. When I went to replace the memory card with another one, I found out that the latch that secured the card in the slot no longer worked and had randomly shot my card who knows where in my car. The warranty replacement process wasn't that bad, just had to send them a short video of the issue, which is hard to do one handed while holding a phone to record it. They had me send my unit back and a replacement sent once they received it and verified it couldn't be repaired. Unfortunately, it took like three weeks for everything to be completed and my new one installed. Too long in my book for something that is supposed to have your back in an accident while you still have to drive everyday it is not installed. As a dashcam, you can't beat the supercapacitor in the southern heat. Wi-Fi is speedy. Camera image is really good. Wish I could set the camera to record longer clips, as I thought it says you can, but the menu doesn't seem to display that option. Maybe I missed it somehow... B08DV51H2X US

The controls took a little getting used to, but I had it set up in no time. The image was okay... it could read the license plate of the person sitting in traffic right in front of you, but it wasn't particularly sharp. It aligned with the amount I paid for it. Unfortunately, I only had it going for about a year before it bit the dust -- specifically the front camera. First, the camera started turning off and back on repeatedly. It would do this only occasionally, maybe once a month, and then it began to do it every time we drove. Then the front camera screen began to flicker and finally it just turned black and has stayed that way for a while. I tried troubleshooting the issue but I believe it's done for. I don't know exactly what caused its demise, but I have some suspicions. First of all, the camera is attached to the front windshield with a suction cup. It's a very strong suction cup that can be locked down, but it failed several times and the camera went flying, attached meekly to its umbilical cord. Sometimes it emerged unscathed, but at least once it hit the dash. If only it could have been attached like the back camera, which could withstand a nuclear holocaust... that adhesive had to have been developed for some serious stuff. It's a little champ. So I only have back camera action for now. I'll have to figure out how to remove that little duder eventually when I buy a new camera, which may or may not be by this brand... but I will definitely not get one that attaches by a suction cup. I get that it's nice to move it around, but we never needed to, and with temperature fluctuations on glass, it was kind of doomed from the start. Bummer. B09MY9YHNV US
