Presto 08810 Professional EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener 5 Very Good Sharpener, but there IS a learning curve John *** This is a fine item, but go to your local thrift shop and get a couple of knives to practice on. As another reviewer suggested, wipe a very light coat of sharpening oil or 3 in one oil on the blade to get the best result. Light pressure and a fairly fast blade draw , 8 - 10 strokes per side gave me the best edge. Watching the video helps to learn how to use the sharpener. Some reviewers have complained that the motor speed is pulled down too easily, but if this happens, it just means you should use a lighter touch. As with any sharpening method, it is best to take your time and let the stone do the work. Would buy again. B0FVRZZ1ZH US

rolling knife sharpener Kitchen Knife Sharpener with N52 Strong Magnetic 5 Very Nice Roller Sharpener. Gregg *** I just got done using RBan Rolling Sharpener and I’m very impressed! I used it on my Buck 110 that was very dull. Started with 400 grit, then 800 grit and finally 1000. This knife sliced paper like it was noting! I’m no expert at sharpening knives (never could get the angle correct with a whetstone) but this thing worked great. Put the knife on the 15 degree angle and went to town. The magnet is strong, there was no need for me to brace the knife in anyway. I cannot imagine the more expensive roller sharpeners could have done a better job. Great value for the money! Comolife Grindstone Knife Sharpener #1000 , Made In Japan 5 sub-par packaging.. but Awesome stone Phil*** The stone came chipped with the case was busted up; but the quality of the stone is superb, and there is no way I'm returning this at the risk of getting a replacement that may be in a worse condition. I was completely blown away by the fact that this 1000 grit stone could produce razor sharp edges with near-mirror finish on my Japanese chisels just minutes into sharpening. The same task used to required multiple stones and much more time on each stone with my previous set of cheap sharpening stones. Other features of the stone: * no soaking required (splash-and-go) * "buttery" smooth cutting action * plastic case would have been useful IF IT DIDN'T GET DAMAGED DURING SHIPPING!! B0GVBCV7R8 US
AlbaTellurav1000/3000 Grit Two‑Piece Natural Whetstone Set,Kitchen Knife Sharpener Kit with Non‑Slip Rubber Base Daily repair and polishing of knives 5 Much better edge than pull-through or electric sharpeners L*** This is my first experience with a whetstone, but I’ve wanted to try one for a long time. I’ve used both manual pull-through sharpeners and electric sharpeners pretty extensively, and while both will put an edge on a knife, they can be pretty rough on the blade. In my experience, the edge also never seems to stay sharp for very long. That’s what made me interested in learning to use a whetstone. It takes more time and a little more technique, but you can get a smoother, more consistent edge that seems to stay sharp longer. So far, that’s exactly what I’m getting. There’s definitely a learning curve, but even as a beginner I’ve been happy with the results. The stones themselves feel substantial and good quality, and the size gives you plenty of working surface for normal kitchen knives. The two different grits also make sense, with one for doing the bulk of the sharpening and the finer stone for finishing the edge. Cleanup is easy enough when you’re done, and I haven’t found them difficult to use once I got the basic technique down. My only real complaint is that I wish the set came with some sort of holder or non-slip base. I’ve been putting the stone on a damp washcloth on top of my cutting board, and that keeps it securely in place. Overall, this is a good introduction to whetstone sharpening and a big improvement over the quick-and-easy sharpeners I’ve used in the past. For the quality of the stones and the fact that you get two grits, I think it’s a very good value. I had some fun cutting paper-thin grape slices. You can find them in the photos!
