A long commute to and from my three jobs, with soul-crushing traffic. basically, I'm always on the road, spend a lot of time in my car and in traffic. And radio sucks! I just hate the radio! I actually haven't listened to radio in about 7 years or more and I will not start now. Arsvita and Elook are the exact same thing. Same parts, manufacturer and product; just by different names. I tested the "upgraded" version of Arsvita whit the nylon cable, and the conventional Elook which is the same as the original Arsvita. Same cable and jack. Scosche is the only one slightly different built and actually different manufacturer. I tested them all at once following the proper instructions. They all sucked and performed and sounded terrible. As soon as you put them in the cassette player they make this terrible static and grinding noise. Even without the phone/player plugged in, just on it's own while nothings playing (of course I adjusted the volume on the car's radio end and my player's end. Still sounds terible) the static sound comes from the radio just being on with a cassette that's not really a cassette and the grinding noise comes from the cassette adapter "turning" the "tape" which of course there isn't any because the adapter is just tricking the car into think it's a cassette so you can use your AUX with it. The sound is terrible and annoying. And if you want to drown the sound, making either end (the radio or phone/player) just makes the static, grinding and feedback noise louder too! The best overall was the Arsvita with the upgraded audio jack plug and nylon cable (the nylon helps cancel out the static and feedback noise that occur when the cable moves or brushes against something, which often.) The second best was the Elook, same as the conventional Arsvita. The audio cable broke after a few weeks and after that I had to wiggle it to hear my music. It would cut in and out has the cable moved, like an old broken charging cable you have to fidget with to make work. Basically it was useless at that point. Lastly the Scosche wouldn't even be recognized by the radio at fist. After messing with it and flipping it it until it worked, the audio quality was around the same as the conventional Arsvita/Elook with less grinding noise but same amount of static/feedback noise. But it always took a few tries to make the radio recognize it as a cassette. It took a few flips for it to start playing. Conclusion: I bough a wireless Bluetooth speaker. The Wonderboom 2 (by Ultimate Ears/Logitech) is the speaker I chose after looking at a few Bose, JBL, Beats, Sony and Apple options. The Wonderboom 2 is $100 ($75 or less now) but it has lasted 2 years now and it's going strong. It's the best option I could find for sound in my car that's not the radio. I put it in my cupholder or center console or the little cubi space under the radio/AC controls and the sound fills up the whole car. It's surprisingly loud yet clear and crisp. It has 360 degree sound and it has an even louder "outdoor mode" option. No feedback, static or any other noise. No bluetooth lag. It connects, pairs and starts playing instantaneously. you can pause/play, skip or go back, volume up and down all in the speaker. Water, dust and shock proof. and the best part: it has 13 hours of battery life and takes 2.5 hours to charge completely. I just charge it with my USB car charger while the speaker is still playing on my cupholder. The music and podcast never stop! In addition I can take the speaker out and give it other uses, like when I'm working on the car I just put it on top of the car and I can listen to whatever I want as I'm doing oil changes, rotating tires and messing with the car. It's also on whenever the car's off like when I'm in traffic, drive-thru, waiting for the train to pass or putting gas. All in all I have a way better experience with music, podcast or any other audio than with a cassette aux adapter. I'm never going back TL;DR: All the cassette aux adapters sucked so I bought a wireless bluetooth speaker instead which worked flawlessly! I also want to note 1 super annoying thing for professional camera users: the true battery reading is delayed. What I mean is, when you put a dead battery in (not knowing it's dead), it might show 3 full bars for as much as 30 seconds. I've been at gigs before where I throw a dead battery in to continue my shoot, only to find out 30 seconds later that I have to switch it out again. This never happens with Canon OEM batteries. Sony DVPFX980 9-Inch Screen DVD Portable 4 Nice little player. Ripp*** I looked at a bunch of portable DVD players before ordering this one. I was close to buying the older 7" Sony with dual headphone ports, but reviewers noted that you couldn't charge and use the player at the same time, so I spent the extra cash and got this newer model. First, the cons: The AC charging cable for indoors is only about 3 feet long, far too short for any reasonable indoor viewing and charging. The touch-sensitive buttons can be tough to work with while riding in a car because you don't get that tactile feedback of a button press. And the device itself is poorly weighted. If you set it on the floor and open the clamshell, if the screen is at an angle any larger than 90° the player will rock back and lift the base off the ground. The screen seems to be heavier than the base and battery and doesn't feel very solid. There's also only one headphone port now instead of two, but you can get a two or three way splitter online for a few bucks. These cons don't take away much from the overall experience, however, and I only took away one star for them. Compared to many of the other players from no-name brands or Panasonic, the build quality and screen quality just seem so much better. For the pros: Fantastic little screen. I didn't expect it to be so clear, and the resolution is surprisingly good for such a small and inexpensive device. The DVD settings are good and give you adjustable options like brightness, contrast, etc. there are a few different sound settings, I've found that Standard and Dynamic are both very good. Volume level is also good, and the sound quality is decent for the tiny speakers. You can always use headphones or plug a male to male cable into your car's AUX port and play the sound through the car speakers. The DVD tray is a push-open/push-close design and feels solid. The buttons are well designed, and while I do prefer actual buttons to these ones, at least any liquids won't get inside the buttons and ruin them. There is a Hold button to prevent button presses by you or a child, which helps. One big plus: the screen opens flat with the base, and is great for use like this with a player carrier in the car. It doesn't swivel or fold all the way back, but I found the full 180° opening to be perfect for our use and with the case we got. I can't comment on battery life yet, but if its sunny out and you have the brightness up, the battery won't last the 4 advertised hours. Just use the car charger and you'll be fine. The good news is that the car charger is about twice the length of the AC charger, so you can string it into the back seat if your accessory plug is only in the front seat. I ended up buying a Case Logic case/mount for the car that supports 7"-9" portable players and it works great; with four points of contact it's nice and stable. I think I'd recommend this player over the competition simply because I've had great luck with Sony DVD players and Blu-Ray players before and the build quality feels a lot better than the other ones around. It is very discrete and fairly easy to install. The windshield mount is very sturdy. The camera operation is easy to use, but has many settings options (like recording resolution, still image capture, permanent saving of data in an event, auto-overiding old data once card is full, auto power one and power off, time-delay power off, etc.) The video quality is good and provides a good angle of view. I can confirm that it is recognizing and properly using my 128GB microSD card. It did not recognize it at first, but was fixed by formatting the card in the dash cam. (You can do this from the menu.) Regarding the installation and mounting... Beware! Make sure you get your mount placement correct on the first try because it is very difficult to move, and as I found out the hard way, does not stick again after pealing off (since the sticky pad they use separates from the mount). It was very sturdy for several weeks until I tried to adjust the placement, afterwhich it fell off after parking in the hot sun. The mount is likely designed to stick tightly once placed and should not be moved or reused. I wish that Rexing would sell these mounts separately, as I would likely pick up a couple as back up, or for switching vehicles. The car charger is plenty long and allows running along headboard down door frame to the 12V outlet. I did purchase a fuse expander and mini-usb hardwire kit to hardwire the camera power to one of my vehicle's fuses. The Rexing V1 was compatible and works as intended with the hardwire kit. Overall I am happy with my purchase and would recommend this dash cam. It would be nice if Rexing sold the windshield mount as an accessory as well as "in-house" hardwire kits with good instructions (since patching together other third party kits is a bit tedious.) Also touch screen operation would be even better and easier, but at this price point, that is an unreasonable expectation. As it stands, I've rated this product 4/5. Apparently the -89db noice cancelling circuit is very effective. I got back on the phone with my customer and got the job done. This one works. It's small and light weight. Trying the different length ear hooks got me a good fit. I topped off the battery from my car charger in just a few minutes. It does all of that very well and has the added bonus of being able to check out how some of the off brand house chargers or various car chargers stand up to their rated voltage/amperage output.. This device also helped me to figure out why a power strip USB charger wasn't working, it was putting out 12 volts to charge an iPhone!! The store finally let me exchange it for a new one, it charged their Samsung phone so it just HAD to be my iPhone or user error, showed them! Very pleased! I would advise to be gentle when plugging this into a power source, it seems like the plastic part that allows it to be plugged in both ways would break with heavy use or over time, I'll update if that happens, but for now I really love this thing!!
