The spring loaded red release levers which lock legs against the frame have a potential to pinch fingers during disassembly, but this can be easily avoided by carefully holding each leg while its release lever is depressed. Seniors might find the low cot a little tough to exit. If Marchway ever offers an accessory set of support rods with attached legs that are 3 1/2" to 4" taller, I'd be interested in those as an option to raise my cot to a much more comfortable height for my use. That set could still fit easily into the bag and, if designed the same way as the original legs, would probably support the same weight advertised for this cot. Just to see how much easier it would be to get off a higher cot, I put 4" couch cushions on the cot as a test. While that'd never be a camping option, boy, were they comfortable! I don't find the bed to be too firm at all; then again, I do have the gel topper on it. As far as the set up, the mattress arrived in a vacuum-sealed back. I was very careful when cutting the plastic to make sure that I didn't puncture the mattress. It unfolded right away. I saw another reviewer state that they let the mattress settle for 48 hours before sleeping on it, so I did the same. It slept great from the first night, and I didn't notice any harsh and/or chemical smells from the mattress since I let it sit for 2 days before putting on the mattress pad and sheets and sleeping on it.
