But, it's a VERY sturdy metal clamp that is pretty easy to tighten and untighten for adult hands. My daughter (a small 10 year old) can't un-do it herself. The cat bed section is removable and washable, which is awesome, and it is a great size. Our kitty is just about full grown and on the small side, but I think it would be fine for all but the largest cats. (My picture features a silly toy cat for laughs, which is about half the size of our actual cat.) The current price is around $30 which I think is perfectly fine considering the size and quality, as well as the washability and flexibility. My windows have traditional molding. Unlike the newer molding design, the simple and flat molding, there's no flat surface to put this on. You can't put it on the wall instead, due to the lack of clearance from the molding and where the rod rests on the bracket. That's on me... though it would've been nice if they brought that to my attention via a photo (e.g. those that show "not design for"). Despite that, these work great as regular hooks. Anything I would use a command strip hook on, I generally feel safer using this because it also nails (as small as it may be). I wouldn't recommend to buy it for that purpose.
