Book cover Storm Front (The Dresden Files, Book 1) 3 which I enjoyed immensely; however Paul Bren*** Before reading this book, I had just finished most of Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen series, which I enjoyed immensely; however, Erikson has a proclivity to make most, if not all, of his characters deeply introspective, philosophical, and theological. Actually, I grew somewhat exhausted by the beautifully written, intelligent introspection, so I jumped ship for a bit and gave Jim Butcher's Storm Front a go. It's the complete opposite of Erikson's series (at least thus far): It's not beautifully written or even that well-written, nor is it filled with introspection or philosophical meanderings. So, I liked it. It was a good break from the exhaustion of reading Erikson, and it's a decent story. One egregious, uh, error that I've had nightmares about since finishing Butcher's first book, is his use of "basketball goal" to describe a basketball hoop. "Basketball goal" ain't right--I don't care what the internet says. It sounds too much like an annoying European influence, which I can't abide. I'll be deep in sleep dreaming about something innocuous, and all of a sudden I see Jim Butcher kick a soccer ball into a basket ball hoop and yell "goal." It hurts. It hurts a lot. The tackiness of what holds the figures together is going to wear off at some point soon since they like to open and close them so much. The kids have already used the pumpkins as soccer balls. My favorite though is that they tell as story with the sad turkey without its feathers and then it "magically" grows the feathers when they set it up. This also comes with metal stakes, like tents come with, as well. This is a nice feature to have something extra. The plastic ones are tied to the goals, and the metal ones are in a nice tied bag that you can keep in the carrier. Super easy to fold up and throw in the trunk. Couldn't be happier! Flexi CL30T8.250.BL New Classic Tape Retractable Leash, Blue, Large/26' 1 Won't Last Pa*** I like the size though the grip area could be a bit wider so a gloved hand would fit without leaving a finger out of the loop. The main problem though is that of the two I bought both have become reliably unreliable. I throw a flat and beat up old soccer ball for my 10 month old Doberman pup and when the lead doesn't retract or retracts slowly... or retracts only part way, what you have left is a long line that winds up tangling around the dog's legs as he runs back and it either trips the dog or in a best case scenario I have to unwind the lead from his entangled legs. Either way you're training the dog that as he comes back to you every once in a while he's apparently going to be slammed onto the ground for absolutely no reason. If you have a little fifi dog that puts very little stress on a retractable lead this might be for you. If you have a dog that you don't mind him tripping over a tangled lead this might be for you. Outside of those two examples though you don't want this lead. My experience w/ two of them has been bad and I can't recommend them at all. B073G9X67B US
