Cast Iron Adjustable Dumbbells 200lbs Black 4 This is a great pair of adjustable dumbbells for the price Dustin M*** This is a great pair of adjustable dumbbells for the price. I started strength training about 6 months ago and these have held up just fine without any major problems. These are not the finest quality dumbbells ever but they do the job. I work out from home and these have been a necessary addition to my home gym, which consists of a bench, pull-up/dip station, and these two 200-lbs adjustable dumbbells. So, for under $400 I essentially have a complete gym to do all the strength training exercises I need. I do standard strength training exercises with these (DB bench presses, DB overhead presses, curls, single-arm rows, squats, single-leg romanian deadlifts, lunges, etc.) and they have worked wonderfully, and buying this single pair of adjustable dumbbells is much better than having to buy heavier and heavier dumbbells as you get stronger. I've even dropped them a few times and not noticed any major damage, although I wouldn't expect these not to chip or worse with enough damage done to them. The plate weights are also accurate, and the dumbbell bar itself weighs in at a little over 4 lbs. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up using these for the rest of my life without any problems. At 200-lbs, this will be all most will need from a pair of dumbbells, but you can also buy the same 10 lbs. plates from the same company if you want to increase the poundage (the dumbbells can hold twelve 10-lbs plates for a total of ~124 lbs each if you want to go that high). Of course, the bar is non-standard being larger than 1inch diameter, meaning you cant just use any standard plates with these. These dumbbells are not perfect, though, but that is probably obvious from the price. I find the handle to be a bit rough on my hands at heavier weights in comparison to other free weights I've used. The rubber rings that go in the handle do not stay in place, so you will find yourself in the habit of reminding yourself to pull it off the outside weight and putting it back into the handle when adjusting weight. When not filled to the max, the bar protrudes past the last weight so it can be a little annoying for exercises that require you to rest them against your thighs before lifting them in place (like for bench press or seated overhead press), but the plates are large enough to simply rest those against your thighs a little to the side. Other than that, though, these are a solid choice for a budget dumbbell set that will likely last you for a very, very long time. B00P1RU494 US

5 Standard No Frills Adjustable Dumbbells - Exactly what you want Jonatha*** Unable to go to the gym during the lockdown, I desperately needed a way to arrest the precipitous loss of gains from the lack of any barbell work. I was looking for both a stopgap measure as well as something that I felt I would get practical and long term use out of even after the lockdown ended. These were about the only dumbbells I could find as of early March, and they were more than I ever hoped I would be able to get under the circumstances. They arrived in a little over a week with expedited shipping, which is reasonable, all things considered. They are standard 1" dumbbell handles that weight a hair over 5 lbs with the collars. The plates are black cast iron and fit just fine. I got a set of 4x10 10 lb plates and they fit perfectly with room to spare for more plates. Most importantly, these are like something you'll find in a real gym. The handles are steel with normal barbell style knurling, not some ridiculous plastic crap like a lot of stuff on Amazon. The iron plates are just that - cast iron plates. The threaded clamps need to be tightened snugly, but stay put quite well once they're on there. I can't help but think the price may have been lower under different circumstances, but whatever. When I ordered it said there was 8 left, so good luck getting any. Bowflex SelectTech Dumbbell Stand with Media Rack, Lithograph Box 3 Perplexing design, but can work with 1090’s M*** It blows my mind that Bowflex could invent the SelectTech adjustable dumbbells, but somehow so poorly swing and miss on the design of the stand to hold them. Like, 4 more holes in the base and the removal of the unnecessary lip for the media rack and it’s perfect for the 1090’s. Instead we’re using janky nylon straps and have the base of the weights not even sit flush on the rack. I’m sure many engineers signed off on this before production and that just absolutely perplexes me. Anyways, if you don’t want to (or have the means to) drill your own holes for the 1090 dumbbell bases, and grind off the lip for the media rack, you can position the strap so the buckle is underneath the base and out of the way. Another reviewer demonstrated this too - I suggest you lookup those pictures. You basically need to remove the male buckle from the strap. Thread the two button ends together through one of the strap holes on the base and connect the buttons to one another. This creates one continuous strap. On the bottom, I reversed the male buckle so the excess strap was tucked away when tightened. To tighten so it is taught, unbuckle the strap, tighten at the male buckle, then connect the buckles (you may need to do this a few times to get it to the right length). You should just barely be able to buckle the strap. Once buckled, you should be good to go. Aside from this absolute blunder of a design flaw, the stand is fine and does what it’s supposed to do. It comes with grade 10 hardware and all components are heavy duty. I suggest using an 8mm and 17mm ratchet and ditch the included wrench to make assembly easier. I ordered the “Lithograph Box” variant and it seems to be identical to the “Media Rack” variant, but was $40 cheaper. Even at $110 before tax, I believe the value for the money is not quite there given the design flaw, but it's the only suitable option we have. B07W312KD5 US
