Either they’re too weak to hold up, or they constantly start to unscrew themselves. I have not encountered either of those with this tool. The pieces have stayed together while we weeded the beds around the house, and the handle on this is considerably thicker and stronger than most. There was a bit of assembly on arrival - attaching the blade to the head mount unit, then screwing the pole into the unit and screwing the pieces together to make the handle. All told maybe 3-5 minutes of assembly time. I was surprised - even knowing the dims when ordering - at just how long the fully assembled pole is. I’m 6 ft, and I doubt that I’ll ever use it at full length. I removed one section and it worked perfectly for me in pulling out weeds. This was a great advantage compared to bending or simply sitting in the dirt to remove weeds from the beds - not only did it save my back, but it went much faster as well. I was using this on my gravel driveway, and as I was working, rocks would get stuck in the teeth and I’d have to work them out. With all three handle pieces, it’s a bit on the tall side, I’m 5’4”. It’s okay through. I really like the foam handle grip in the middle. It’s very comfortable. It was easy to assemble, but I don’t think I tightened the handle pieces well enough because it tends to come loose and I have to re-tighten.
