He would grab the edges of the plastic and hold on tight! It was a multi-phase trip, so he spent a total of about 10 days riding in this carrier in my car -- thus the X-Large carrier. After the first day he would willingly step into and out of the carrier through the small door -- surprise! For that reason alone it gets 3 stars. I am reviewing the carrier a few years later because I forgot I had it and was going to replace that traditional plastic thing that now has a rusted metal grate door. The two cats I moved across country have gone to kitty heaven (16 and 18-years-old), and I just got a new rescue cat that deserves a new carrier. Having just unfolded the SportPet carrier, I am reminded of why I wasn't so keen on it. First, it is awkward to carry due to it's size, but most importantly, it was always a struggle to latch the thing at the top! I just now played around with the latches and figured it out. Each latch has two metal pins, and nothing holds them in place. One end is covered by a plastic stop, but the other end of each pin is exposed. The pins are free to work their way out. If one moves just a little, it doesn't line up correctly and the latch may not line up. When I pulled the carrier out of the closet today, the one latch that had always given me trouble wasn't latching at all. After a close inspection I was able to push the errant pin into place and the latch now works. Each of the other latches, however, also had a different pin out of place. This is a terrible design! I wasn't able to just push the pins in with my finger, so I could have found myself traveling and unable to quickly fix a latch. I do think the carrier would make a nice crate for a small dog. It's easy to clean and won't rust. I'll leave mine out somewhere to see if my new cat wants sleep in it, but I definitely will be buying her a new small carrier. B083KM5V63 US

This carrier has three. +1 tiny 3/4” wide opening and it would qualify. But, instead we missed our flight. AA policy says three are required. Lots of netting for breathability, it is very sturdy when he is in the carrier and easy to zip up and down. The assembly was a piece of cake, just pop it open and viola! I have put a cat toy in the carrier and both my cats are playing in it. I even picked up the carrier with the Bengal in the carrier and took him downstairs and no problem at all. However, the vet appointment is later in the day, so we'll see how he does in transit. He is 7 and for the past year gives me a hard time, when he was a kitten I never had issues, not sure what changed, but hopefully getting a new carrier will be very helpful. 2 days After writing this review I took Axl to the vet in the new carrier. It went really well, it seems like he likes the design of having the mesh windows on the sides and the top. It was easier to carry since there are straps for each side and one main strap. I was really happy with this carrier versus my old hard carrier. I was able to keep him close, zip part of the opening to allow my hand in the carrier to calm him when we arrived at the vets office, I couldn't do that with the old hard carrier. My sweet, very large cat busted out of this thing 4 times during my 15 hour drive, after taking a dump in between the litter box and the wall of the carrier, rolling in it trying to get out, completely covering himself in said dump. He broke the zippers in every single window of the carrier and not even a 1.5x dose of gabapentin could keep him inside. After 5 hours of constant break outs, I was left driving my rental vehicle 10 hours with a very drugged up cat that smelled like a barn animal quietly passed out in my lap. RIP cat carrier.
