Sure they sucked the air out but the air was just coming back in because their valve wouldn't actually close well enough to keep the air from coming back in. So I used 2 of the 4. I put one inside a tub and sucked the air out. Then I closed the lid and stacked a full heavy tub on top of it to keep it closed. And the other one went into the wood chest under my bedroom window. Kinda did same thing. Closed the wood lid and then put something heavy on top of the chest. If I wasn't on a time crunch I'd return these things but honestly isn't worth the effort to return. 5 Excellent pump, sturdy but small bags Emi*** I just tried these out, ive never used a vacuum seal bag before. For someone with zero idea what to do, these were fairly easy to use. It comes with simple instructions that explain the process, the only thing that wasn't really explained was how to use the vacuum however it's pretty intuitive. The pump came mostly charged which meant I could use it right away and it feels like a quality pump. It's easy to hold down onto the bag for sealing and it's not as loud as I expected. It also came with a little carrying bag and an unexpectedly nice braided charger. From opening the box to having my first vacuum sealed item it took maybe 10 minutes and most of that was getting the blanket to lay flat in the bag. One downside is the bags don't appear to be labeled with their size and all three sizes go in one bag which meant I had to unfold each bag and compare to the others to get the biggest one. In addition to that, the sizes I got don't fit as well as I thought. I struggled to fit a queen size comforter in the biggest size, it took at least five minutes of struggling just to get the bag zip locked shut. Once securely inside, it did vacuum seal as intended but the struggle was a bit of a turn off. That being said, at max capacity the bag seems pretty durable. So far there's no leaks and it's definitely packed to the brim. The material is sort of like a vinyl sort of feel, it's almost like an industrial zip lock bag. Overall I am pretty happy with my purchase. I would buy this again just for the pump though as long as my pump works, I'll probably buy bags from a different vendor so I can get some bigger sizes.
