Eat Smart Luggage Scales 5 Holy accuracy, Batman! Amazon C*** I travel a lot - 30 to 60 flights a year often -- and I got this scale as a Christmas gift this past Christmas. I am absolutely dumbfounded by the accuracy time and time again. It has saved me time, money, and the frustration of repacking at the airport. I guess if you're at home, you've got your bathroom scale to use -- but when you're re-packing from a hotel room on the go, this thing is incredibly valuable. My bathroom scale is terribly inaccurate anyway.....this thing is PERFECT. I love the fact that it has the ability to weigh in either Kg or Lbs because I travel abroad often and it saves me the hassle of doing the conversions when my bags are going to be weighed in kilos. Like I said, where this thing really shines is when you weigh something at home and then get to the airport and you don't have to worry about it being off by half a pound. In the past, airlines used to always let anything within a few pounds slide -- but these days, I've been asked how I would like to pay for the overage when I was only half a pound over. I just got back from a 2-week trip to Hawaii with my girlfriend and Hawaiian air makes you pay for every checked bag....so we only wanted to check one. Lo and behold, we got our bag packed to EXACTLY the 50.0 lb limit according to this scale. We got to the airport and tossed it on the scale -- and bingo, 50.0lbs on the button. And that was after more than a dozen flights so far this year (so it has gotten shoved around in bags more than once or twice and used to weigh and reweigh and check again after repacking plenty of times). As a frequent traveler, I'd give this thing nine stars if I could. If you're searching for a luggage scale, stop. This is the one. Have a tracker built in to a luggage scale. How can you go wrong? Well, apparently you can. The battery life first of all is the absolute worst. It’s like 2-3 weeks. I have no idea if I got a defective one but the battery dies very quickly. The speaker volume for Bluetooth find my is so quiet you can’t even hear it unless you cup your ears and listen. So, it’s a no from me. I have another scale where the battery lasts over a year and I have a manual non digital scale which will work without batteries. Attach an AirTag to that if you really need it. Features are nice though. Set your weight and it will alert you if your luggage is overweight. It has 50lbs and 20kg as default and you can even manually set another weight. The plastic buckle I am not too fond of but it hasn’t been a problem. I don’t expect this to act like an AirTag - nobody but Apple has precise finding via UWB that I know of. Third party find my devices only use Bluetooth and don’t have capability. Eat Smart Luggage Scales 5 No problems with this digital scale S. Ag*** I bought my first eatsmart voyager digital scale in July 2012. I've purchased three more since then - one for my parents, one for my wife who currently lives outside the US and one as a replacement after my mom gave hers to my uncle. Why the repeat purchases? (No, not because they keep breaking.) PROS: 1. It works. It turns on without delay. It is accurate as far as I can tell. My conclusion is based on the comparisons I have made between the weight as displayed on the Voyager scale and the weight as shown at the various airline ticket counter scales. The toggling between kilograms and pounds has never failed. It is easy to use. 2. It is reliable. None of the units I have purchased have failed in any way. It does not "eat" the batteries. I have yet to replace the battery for the unit I purchased in July 2012. 3. It is light weight, easy to pack (no sharp edges) and relatively sturdy. None of the units have physically broken when packed - I mean the units are not cheaply made as to break easily. And for Pete's sake I just want something that works and works well when I'm on a trip. Traveling is just such a hassle and it's nice to know that at least ONE thing won't go totally haywire. CONS: It won't guarantee that your baggage will arrive with you. You might start thinking that other products should work as well as the voyager. It won't bring world peace.
